Fold 8 or Fold 8 Ultra?

The price difference is straightforward: for the same storage, the Ultra costs €200 more. One price point worth noting: the Fold 8 with 512GB and the Fold 8 Ultra with 256GB both cost €2,199. For the same money, you are effectively choosing between more storage and the Ultra model.

What else the listings show:

• Colours: the Fold 8 comes in black, white and lilac; the Fold 8 Ultra in black, white and purple.
• Storage: both models are available in our listings with 256GB or 512GB.
• Bundles: both models come with identical bundle options (accessory pack or Galaxy Buds4 Pro).

Samsung traditionally reserves the Ultra label for the version with the most powerful hardware. Exactly which differences that means this generation is set out in the specifications on the product pages — here we only include what our listings show. Rule of thumb: if storage is your priority, the Fold 8 512GB is the sensible pick; if you want the top model, the Ultra costs €200 extra.

Fold 8 vs Fold 7: wait or upgrade?

Since the Fold 8 arrived, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has become noticeably cheaper than the new model. In our listings, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 5G 256GB Silver Shadow starts at €1,299 — that is €700 less than the cheapest Fold 8. The Fold 7 with 512GB in black sits at €1,475.99, and there is even a 1TB version for €1,821.05 — a storage option the Fold 8 does not (yet) have in our listings.

The right call depends on where you are coming from. If you already own a Fold 7, upgrading after a single generation is rarely worth the extra outlay. If you are switching from an older phone or buying your first foldable, the Fold 7 at this price level is the rational entry point; right after a launch, the previous model's price usually drops further still. If you simply want the newest model, that starts at €1,999. You will find all current offers in our smartphones category.
